What does move-out cleaning include?
Move-out cleaning is done in an empty home. The scope is agreed in the quote, but it typically covers:
- Floors, skirting boards, doors and light switches
- Kitchen cupboards inside and out
- Hob, oven, extractor hood, fridge and freezer
- Bathroom, toilet and sauna surfaces
- Sweeping the balcony
- Windows by agreement
How to prepare
A few preparations make cleaning quicker:
- Defrost the freezer and switch off the fridge the day before.
- Take everything out, including from storage rooms and the balcony.
- Tell us about any special surfaces or materials.
- Arrange the key handover so there is time for cleaning.
Handing back a rental flat
A rental flat is returned in the agreed condition at the end of the tenancy. Normal wear and tear is the landlord’s responsibility, but a dirty flat can lead to cleaning costs being taken from your deposit. Check your lease and your landlord’s instructions for what is expected.

The tax credit for move-out cleaning
Move-out cleaning is cleaning work, so it can qualify for the household tax credit when it is invoiced separately and the labour cost is shown on the invoice. Moving work itself does not qualify. Read more in our guide to the tax credit and moving.

Yes. Choose move-out cleaning as an extra service in your quote request and we will arrange the move and cleaning together.
Is window cleaning included?
Window cleaning is agreed separately. Mention it in your quote request if you need it.
Does move-out cleaning qualify for the household tax credit?
It can, when it is invoiced separately from the moving work and the labour cost is shown on the invoice.
When is the cleaning done?
Once everything has been moved out. We agree the timing around your move and key handover.
