Which furniture should be taken apart?

Taking furniture apart is worth it when it is heavy, the stairwell or lift is narrow, or the piece won’t fit through the door in one piece. Furniture moved in parts is also damaged less often.

How it works

Disassembly and assembly happen as part of the same move:

1. We take the furniture apart at your old home before carrying it out.
2. We pack screws and small parts in labelled bags.
3. We transport the parts with protection.
4. We reassemble the furniture in the agreed rooms at your new home.

The tax credit and assembly

Taking furniture apart and reassembling it as part of a move counts as moving work, which no longer qualifies for the household tax credit from 2025. Assembling new furniture, however, can qualify when it is invoiced separately and the labour cost is shown on the invoice.
