Who is the packing service for?
Packing help makes sense when time is short, there is a lot to pack or you want fragile items to travel safely. Many customers order packing only for the hardest parts, such as the kitchen, and pack clothes and books themselves.

How packing works
Packing usually happens the day before the move or on the morning of moving day:
- We go through what is packed and what stays.
- We pack fragile items first and protect them with paper or bubble wrap.
- We label every box by destination room.
- We carry the boxes to the van as part of the same move.

Some things are best kept with you throughout the move. Put them in a separate bag before packing starts.
- Keys, passports and important documents

- A first-day bag: chargers, a change of clothes and toiletries
What does packing cost?
The price depends on how much there is to pack, how much of it is fragile and the packing materials needed. Tell us the size of your home and which rooms need packing, and we will agree the price in the quote.
Since the start of 2025, moving work, packing included, no longer qualifies for the household tax credit. Read more in our guide to the tax credit and moving.

Can I order packing for just part of my home?
Yes. You can order packing for the kitchen only, for example, and pack everything else yourself.
Do you bring packing materials?
Packing materials are agreed in the quote. Mention in your quote request whether you need boxes and protective materials.
When does packing happen?
Usually the day before the move or on the morning of moving day. For a larger home we can set aside more time.
Does packing qualify for the household tax credit?
No. Since the start of 2025, moving work, packing included, does not qualify.
